(As soon as you are on the dirt road set odometer to 000.0) 000.0 Turns off Bells Line of Road at Zig Zag Railway. 000.5 Follow road past turn off of Clarence Hardwoods. 002.0 Past fenced dams on your left. 007.2 Head straight at fork. 007.5 Pass quarry on the right. 009.0 Turn right at T-intersection. (left takes you to lithgow) 011.2 Turn left at fire danger sign. (There is a camping area on your right surrounded by pine trees.) 013.2 Turn right at fork 013.8 Turn right at fork (ie onto Sunnyside Rd) 014.7 Turn right at fork. 017.5 Pass old pine trees on the left. 023.1 Turn right at big fork (ie following sunnyside trail) 023.5 Turn left at fork. 024.8 Turn left at fork. 026.6 If you don't have a 4wd it is extremely desirable that you park your car here and walk. The next hill is a bit worn away, your choice. 28.3 Carpark. (Dont drive off the cliff) Once at the carpark walk straight towards the cliff, (This puts you onto top of Sahara Point climbing area), follow cliff line along to the right until you can scramble down into John Botths Memorial Gully. Go up other side of gully and follow the fiant path over the next ridge until you meet the base of the cliff ine again. This is Crag X. NOTE:(Disclaimer.) Crag X is a sport route crag. Most climbs have had few ascents so care must be taken when climbing all routes. All climbs are bolted with glue-in ring bolts with double ring lowering off points. Climbing is a dangerous activity and you climb at Crag X at your own risk.(ie Usual legal stuff!!!) |
